This campaign follows 105 Squadron RAF, the very first Mosquito Squadron - from early 1942 until May 1943 when the Squadron switched to night operations as a pathfinder unit. The campaign will feature some of the Mosquito's and the RAF's most famous daring daylight raids including the attack on the Gestapo HQ in Oslo, the mass daylight attack on the Philips Works in Eindoven, the long range attack on the Zeiss Optical works at Jena and the most famous of all - the amazing daylight raid on Berlin to disrupt a massed rally and speach by Hermann Goring, Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe!

You will fly the Mosquito in it's original form as an unarmed bomber, a top secret aircraft and the fastest aeroplane in the world!

Thanks to all the fantastic IL2 modders it is now possible to fly even more aircraft - including the B17 Flying Fortress, so at last we are able to make a true heavy bomber campaign. You will take the controls of B17F serial number 41-24577 code VK D of the 358th Bomb squadron, 303rd Bomb Group (Heavy) called ' Hell's Angels ' . You will fly from Nov 1942 and the 303rd's very first missions until Aug 1943 and the first of the infamous Schweinfurt missions.

In 1931, at the age of 21, Douglas Bader was the golden boy of the RAF. Excelling in everything he did he represented the Royal Air Force in aerobatics displays, played rugby for Harlequins, and was tipped to be the next England fly half. But one afternoon in December all his ambitions came to an abrupt end when he crashed his plane after being goaded into doing a particularly difficult and illegal aerobatic trick. His injuries were so bad that surgeons were forced to amputate both his legs to have a slim chance to save his life. Despite everything Douglas recovered to walk unaided on his artificial legs, but had to leave his beloved RAF. Douglas Bader did not fly again until the outbreak of the Second World War, when his undoubted skill in the air was enough to convince a desperate air force to give him another chance.

Join the 325th Fighter Group 'The Checkertail Clan' one of the top Fighter Groups of the U.S.A. in WW2

The campaign starts with Operation TORCH in November 1942 - the invasion of North Africa. Flying with the 33rd FG you will see your first combat and help them become the most experienced unit in North Africa. In January you will join the new 325th FG to help make them combat ready, and fly and fight through Tunisia, Sicily, and into the skies of Italy in your trusty P40 Warhawk.

It is August 1942, and the 8th Airforce of the USA is ready to take the fight to the Germans. Despite British advice the Americans have decided to use daylight precision bombing to bring the Nazi war industry to its knees, thinking that close formations of its heavy bombers will be able to defend themselves against any Luftwaffe attack. Also new American fighters like the P38 Lightning and P47 Thunderbolt will equip the fighter squadrons to escort the bombers – you will be one of these fighter pilots.
