Lt. William D Grosvenor Jr. Colfax, Iowa. 61st Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-75216 HV- "Charming Ellen". Lost 30 November 1943 due to a/c damaged whilst strafing train. Bailed out near Mariekerke, Belgium and evaded for six months until captured by Gestapo. Escaped and returned to unit September 1944.
